Boop was founded by Horacio Rilo after years of the same frustration: you meet the right person. A buyer, a founder, an investor. And then the moment ends. Bad wifi, a dead app, a business card at the bottom of a bag. The follow-up never happens.

It didn't matter whether it was a trade show floor or a curated founder-investor dinner. The motion was always the same: meet someone valuable, lose them to friction.

Event apps were supposed to fix this, but engagement is notoriously low, and lowest exactly where it counts. The buyers and the investors, the people everyone came to meet, are the least likely to download an app, log in, and keep it open. The people who matter aren't using the app.

So we built on SMS, the most reliable communication protocol that exists.
